About
This blog is about three cats, Rusty, Sleevy, and Toffee.
Rusty, Sleevy, and Toffee are about the same age. They were born in Hong Kong in 2008.
Rusty is the second member of the cat family; she is the oldest amongst the three of them. She was born approximately in early April, 2008. I found her meowing all by herself right between a pet shop and a funeral home on my way to have dinner with my wife on the eve of the Chinese Ghost Day in 2008. I told myself, if she still lingered around after I had finished eating, I would take her home. At that time I was looking for a playmate for Toffee. It was like Rusty knew what I thought and she waited there for around two hours. I picked her up with little resistance from her and then put her into a plastic bag. She was such a nice and temperate malnutrited little girl. I later found out that she was about 4 months old and weighed only 0.96 kg.
Toffee was born approximately in mid-May, 2008. He is the first member of the cat family. He was picked up by some staff members at my work place. He was originally given to me together with his sibling. Unfortunately, his sibling could not survive a serious cat flu and died on the second day it arrived. Toffee is a spoiled little tiger. Luckily he has never tried to hurt anyone with his claws. Toffee has a pretty bad temper occasionally, especially when he doesn’t want to be petted or doesn’t want to be picked up. To show that he can’t be bothered, he very likely may give you his famous tiger bites. Oh, those may also be the only few moments Toffee actually meows, or better to say “complains.”
Sleevy was born approximately in mid-May, 2008. She is the third member of the cat family. I first saw her photo on a cat adoption website when I was searching for a playmate for Toffee to hopefully abate or divert his aggression. But when I was planning to adopt one of the three kittens, which included Sleevy, shown on the website, I met Rusty. So, the big adoption plan was held in abeyance, until a month later when I had made up my mind to bring in a third member to the cat family. At that time, one of the three kittens that I was interested in had been adopted. Another one was taken somewhere when I visited the adoption home. So, Sleevy became the obvious only choice, who happened to be extremely pusillanimous. Even today, she remains the only kitten who must be wrapped up by a towel in order to get her teeth brushed.
